Arabic l is a very common language in the world. It is being spoken by approximately 300 million people. Arabic is the native language for some people and for others it is the second language they use in their everyday life. Moreover, the Quran, the holy book of all Muslims, is written in Classical Arabic. At the moment, there are three distinct forms of the Arabic language- Classical, Formal and Spoken or Colloquial Arabic. Each form has its own purpose and is used by different people. Formal Arabic is used by politicians and Spoken Arabic, which includes dialects, is used by most people for communication.

The oldest findings with inscriptions in Arabic date back to the 8th century BC. The inscription was written in musnad script. The language quickly spread through the Arab conquest of new territories and through the spread of Islam.

The Arabic language is close to Hebrew and Aramaic. Dialects of different nations caused misunderstandings among people who seemingly spoke the same language. For example, both Iraqi “aku” and North African “kayən” mean «to eat», but sound quite different.

But the most expressive feature that distinguishes these countries is the Arabic language. It is the official language in 25 countries. If you look at the political map, this part of the world stretches from east to west. More than 280 million people from different countries consider the Arabic language their native tongue. Among the Semito-Hamitic languages Arabic is the most common language and it continues to influence other languages of the Muslim peoples who support Islamic ideas. But most importantly it is the language of the Quran and the language of a very rich artistic, scientific and literary heritage. Moreover, the UN uses the Arabic language as one of the six working languages. Although it is not so easy to learn (both spelling and pronunciation are difficult), it gains popularity — a huge number of people try to master it.
